Customer background

Today this customer, from North China, is engaged in the manufacture and sales of intelligent equipment, including robots and intelligent control system integration; metal cutting and welding equipment; material handling equipment; intelligent storage equipment; and special equipment for environmental protection. Needless to say, how much emphasis our customer put on their industrial intelligence.

What is the working condition of the magnet?

The 6 meters long steel plate will be cut into 4 pieces, and then transported by a robot. The length is 1500mm, width 300mm, thickness 10mm, weight 30-40kg. Hopefully, the material handling method is horizontal single sheet handling and palletizing.
Our customer wanted the production line to upgrade and would prefer to place a trial order first.

What problems does this customer expect to solve with magnetic gripper?

1. Because previously the customer used electromagnets and the workpiece would fall off when the power was cut off accidentally. They wanted to solve the safety problem first and foremost.
A: Due to the characteristic of the electro permanent magnet, it generates magnetic field by the permanent magnet inside. The electrical system inside is only for power on and off, while during the whole working process it doesn’t need electricity at all. The workpiece will not fall until the worker presses the power-off (close) button. So, it is not only safe but also energy-saving.
2. How to deal with remanent magnetization?
A: We can add a demagnetizer. But if the material is Q235, low carbon steel, then there is no need to worry about remanent magnetization.

What did HVR MAG provide and how was the effect?

Since the steel plate is not big and heavy, we designed two magnetic modules as one set. The magnets could cooperate with their trusses and robots to complete the material handling work efficiently and safely. And this is only the beginning of our cooperation. After installing and using our product, the customer was satisfied and placed a second order.
